Look of the Day: I {hella} Love the Bay, Like I Love LA

Yesterday I took my 13 year old friend Karen for her first trip Telegraph Ave and Downtown Berkley. Karen and I call each other sisters because we look a lot alike, and I have known her since she was 5 so she likes to come to me for sisterly advice. Karen always asks me questions about what kind of things I did as a teenager and Telegraph has come up a lot because I spent a lot of time wandering around there buying hemp bracelets and funky rings. And, to my regrets, I came home with several holes in my ears from there, seven holes to be exact. So it was fun to take Karen around and see the typical Telegraph street crowd (always entertaining) , the college campus and experience some hippie vegetarian food.
We dined at Saturn Cafe, and it was the second best Veggie burger I have ever had.
The best being the Beet burger from The Pant Cafe in San Francisco.
It is really cute how the place is decorated like a typical diner but everything was Vegan and Vegetarian! Gotta love it.
I ordered the sliders, a collection of four of their famous burgers. The Jalapeno was my favorite. Karen ordered the Saturn burger with a side of their award winning fries. Karen also wanted to try a milkshake, she picked Turkish Coffee for us to sample. So good!
I ended being a tourist myself and I purchased a T shirt because I just couldn't resist.
I mean I do HELLA love the bay.
And as a lifelong Nor Caler, hella is one word I can't seem to shake from my vocabulary.
Gwen Stefani knows what it's all about. The rest of the SoCalers like to point out any time hella rolls off my tongue.
You've got me feeling Hella Good, So let's just keep on dancing.
Abercrombie plaid shirt, American Apparel I hella Love the Bay Tee, J Brand Jeggings.
I hope your Friday is hella good!

Things I love: European Magazines

When I was traveling in Europe I made to sure to pick up lots of European Magazines along the way. They weren't exactly the lightest souvenir but they were well worth it. European magazies are always filled with inspirational pictures and had great editorials to gaze over. While you can purchase some of these magazines in the States, these ones hold a little more value to me. I just love looking over at my magazine basket and catching a glimpse of an Italian Vogue in there, it reminds me of the chic European women I saw.

Look of the Day: Do Your Ears Hang Low?

Well maybe my ears don't hang low but my earrings sure do. Past my shoulders to be exact. These long Free People earring made my festival outfit on Saturday. They were so well received I almost want to wear them all the time. Or at least they make me want to go big when it comes to earrings, and I may now have to purchase this pair. Wearing them all the time may actually result in my ears hanging low and wobbling too and fro...
Free People Earrings (similar here), Forever 21 Top, Forever 21 shorts, Cynthia Vincent for Target Sandals.
Jen and I being free spirited festivals freaks.
Don't hate me because that song is stuck in your head now.

The First Step is Admitting You Have a Problem

Photobucket
Facebook, Twitter, fashion forums (really 19,875 posts!?) and blogging. You name it and I want to be a part of it. I was supposed to be cleaning my room but instead I got sucked into a social media coma and went on Facebook bender. You know it's bad when you are simultaneously looking at computer and iPhone. In my mind numbing state I sent this picture to my friend Jen who threatened an intervention and to post this picture on Facebook if I didn't chill out. So instead I took the first step and admitted I have a problem, but if they try to make me go to rehab I'll say no, no, no. Please tell me I am not alone.

Look of the Day: Shop, Drop and Roll

As I stated in my previous post on Sunday I went shopping with my friend Jen, and Jen from the Look for Less and Kara From Fashionably Inspired (make sure to check out the pic of us all in this post). I am being generous when I say we went shopping, for some of the time it was me shopping and making other people drop wait for me. This is part of the reason I tend to shop by myself, unfortunately shopping for clothes is my weakness.

None the less I think Kara, Jen and Josh enjoyed checking out Union street. It's a really fun place to walk around, and they were having a sidewalk sale going on so it was nice to walk around and check out what places had to offer. My friend Jen had so much fun chatting with Kara and Jen she even wants to start a blog! Not sure Blogger would be down with many f-bombs, but maybe we can get her to work on that ;)

I couldn't wait any longer to wear some of the things that I purchased at our blogger/worlds collide meet up . The earrings were from Ambiance and the top was just one of the many things I purchased at LF Stores San Francisco. LF has to be my absolute favorite place to shop at in the city. And I wasn't disappointed yesterday. I actually just looked and the top I purchased in the chiffon version is their online Look of the Week.

This Millua top is so flowy and fun, I may just wear it to pieces. I also bought another Millau top that is just gorgeous. I'm sure you will love it as much as I do! If you have not seen this brand you need to check it out, feel free to call the lovely ladies at the San Francisco LF Store,
(415) 567-6872. They are always super helpful, and tell them Amber sent you! Or check out this list of other LF store locations.
I Love this top so much!

Millau top from LF Union Street, J Brand Jeggings, H&m pendent necklace, and sandals from a local boutique.
Yay for Lf Stores, Millau, and flowy hippie tops for the summer time!

Look of the Day: Worlds Collide

Yesterday I had plans to meet Jen from the Look 4 Less and Kara from Fashionably Inspired at a couple of my favorite stores in the city. When I went to breakfast with my friend Jen I mentioned my plans for the day she decided she wanted to come along and see what this "other side" of my life was all about. Or as Casey said, my worlds were colliding.

I have known Jen and Kara for years long before any of us had blogs. Just over four years ago I joined a fashion forum that at one point became a big part of my life. Through that fashion forumI met many girls who became my friends in real life. Kara and Jen are just some of the friends I met and it is always nice to meet them in person. Kara and I are both fro California and have hung out a few times before, and even have some mutual not online friends. But it was my first time meeting Jen and she was just as sweet as I expected. It's strange when you have know someone online for so long, it's not weird when you meet them in real life. I was also able to meet Jen's husband Josh, who patiently waited while I shopped until we all dropped.

After our (or my) shopping excursion, Jen and Josh treated us to Irish Coffees at Buena Vista.
It was a really fun day and I am so happy my worlds have officially collided! I love all my friends online and in real life.

Worlds colliding: My Jen, Jen from Look 4 less, Kara from Fashionably Inspired and me!
And of course my outfit.
My Jen told me I looked like Ursala in my skirt.
Elizabeth and James skirt, Torn by Robby Kobo Tank top, Nordstrom shirt, and Cynthia Vincent for target sandals.
Yay for Kara, Jen, and Jen. And of course for my worlds colliding!!

Things I love: Rings and Things

One my vanity/desk I have a jar full of rings that I like to grab and add to any outfit, it always seems to make whatever I wear feel put together or maybe just slightly more hippie. I think I got my big ring obsession from my Gma who is never seen without them. Thank you to the lovely Rosa from DC who for my birthday sent me a fabulous vintage locket ring that is my most recent ring acquisition.
It is such a cool piece and everyone asks about it when I wear it. Although Casey said it reminded him of Sarah Michelle Gellar's snuff necklace from Cruel Intentions. Thanks so much again Rosa!! I had a blast this weekend meeting Jen from the Look 4 Less and Kara from Fashionably Inspired, I will be back shortly with a recap.
My Ring jar.

Look of the Day: Carnivore Cravings

I'm so behind on my blogging these days I still have lots of Europe pictures to share. I mean I did take over 2000! This outfit is actually from Wednesday when the weather was cooler.

Yesterday was a bit warmer but I started my summer day back at the Doctor's for one of many follow up appointments. Recently I have had food cravings that are very unlike me, not only because I prefer to eat vegetarian, but because they are foods I never really ate before. I have been craving turkey sandwiches, so now my strange cravings make much more sense! I couldn't figure out what was up with me. In any case, besides that I seem too look much better, although I am not sure this is the end of every. My Dr, however, is hopeful so that is good.

Happy Friday everyone!! I hope everyone has fun plans, tonight I am just taking it easy today but tomorrow I am meeting a friend to go to a festival and on Sunday I am meeting J from The Look 4 Less in San Francisco for some shopping!! I am SO excited!!

Look of the Day: Summer Loving Happened So Fast

While the magazines, stores and catalogs are trying to convince me it's fall but I know better. Looking back at Looks of the Day from last year I know that the heat will be in out and of here until at least the beginning of October. Which means I still have time to reevaluate what I want to add to my wardrobe before the cold weather really creeps in and settles itself. So when the temperature dropped a bit yesterday I jumped at the opportunity to trade in my shorts and skirts for my jeggings. Mixing in pieces that you can't wear in the heat waves helps fend off that dreaded summer drag. You know when you stare in you closet and have difficult time finding anything you want to wear. However, our nightcap of ice cream with my in laws and nieces made it feel like a summer night, despite the cool weather!

Urban Cardigan, Urban Tank top blouse, Paige Premium Denim Jeggings (From the Nordstrom Half Yearly sale) and Cynthia Vincent for Target sandals.
Yay for the Nordstrom Half Yearly sale, putting off fall shopping and enjoying summer while it is still here.

Europe Trip Recap: Jíst-Essen-Mangiare

I think one of I love most about traveling is sampling the local food. Prior to when I got sick I had previously been eating vegetarian, but just as I had last year on my trip to China, I planned to break from eating veggie to enjoy the food to the fullest. We found lots of amazing food in Europe, ranging from tradition fare to modern delights enjoyed by the Europeans. Indian food and curry was very popular everywhere we went. I enjoyed watching what the young European girls ate and drank. Eating out was one of my favorite things to do on our trip. Here is a sample of some of the foods we enjoyed .

German Pastries
Wiener schnitzel
A fabulous salad from and Indian Restaurant in Germany.
There was pineapple, strawberries and melons in it.
Dumplings in Prague
Potato soup
Sausage and sauerkraut in Prague.
Espresso Breakfast Box in Vienna, we went back twice for this because I loved it so much.
Pizza!Prosciutto and Ham in Italy.
Pasta and Seafood in Venice!

Look of the Day: Butterfly In the Sky

I spent the past two days poolside with my very best friends. Because of my hospital stays and trip it had been a while (for us) since we all hung out, so it was nice to spend some time together. However, we tend to get a bit silly when we all hang out and are immediately transformed into our sixteen year old selves. Yesterday was full of giggles, text messaging picture wars and some Facebook stalking. We ended our two day poolside extravaganza by going to a local restaurant for a glass of wine and Mediterranean happy hour platters. It's so nice to have friends you can free and silly with, because sometimes it seems like other people don't understand our funny ways. I love you girls!

Vintage dress from Ebay, Urban Outfitters cardigan, Cynthia Vincent For target sandals, and Forever 21 sunglasses.
Yay for giggling, butterflies and girl talk.

Look of The Day: In Outer L-Space

When the weather is this hot there is only one thing I want to do, and that is kick it poolside. Besides when we went to the Giants Game Friday night I never put on on outfit all weekend. Instead I bounced from pool to pool to try and beat the heat. Swimming in the pool is one of my favorite thing to do, so my weekend was very relaxing and enjoyable. And the only technology I encountered this weekend was my loyal Ipod and Logitech speakers.
I happen to be partial to L Space bikini's they seem to fit me well and are the perfect beach or poolside bikini's. Here are the ones I was rocking this weekend. My styles are older patterns but here is a really cute L space Bikini from this year:

I hope your weekend was as enjoyable as mine!! I was so happy not to be in the hospital!

Look of the Day: Summertime and the Livin's Easy

So I did end of resting yesterday! I spent the day lying next to my pool. After being inside for the past four days all I wanted to do was be outside. I could spend hours in my pool. I've been known to spend entire weekend out there. I could go a few days without ever putting on shoes and hanging poolside. And yesterday was no different. I parked myself outside with some magazines, nail polish and my ipod and logitech speakers and chilled outside bumping Sublime and other summertime songs. My friend Vanessa who joined me poolside, entertained me with her sweet poolside dance moves. She's crazy lol!
When Casey got home I made a late minute decision to go with him to his softball game and I quickly threw on an outfit. Who wears an outfit like this to a softball game, you ask? Someone who wore a hospital gown for the past few days--that's who.

Mink Pink Dress, Forever 21 hat, Forever 21 Sunglasses, Postcards + Love Oh Deer Etsy necklace, World Market Bracelet, Forever 21 Double knuckle ring and Cynthia Vincent for Target sandals.
Yay for being poolside, summer dresses and summertime.
