Look of the Day: Decades Collide

If you couldn't tell by my last post I am totally feeling the Seventies vibe that is going on this spring. I've even been brushing up on my favorite Seventies movies, like Love Story, Annie Hall, and Bullitt, to get in the mood. While this outfit isn't really 70's inspired it did have me feeling a little like Ali McGraw in Love story, so I threw on some glasses like her for fun.
Expect to see lots of seventies inspired fashion here on the blog this spring. It's the perfect time for this trend to be hot, because the husband's '71 Challanger should be all nice and refurbished by spring. Which means I'll be cruising around town pretending I live in that era. I guess I should start busting out my vintage pyrex now...

What decade's fashion inspires you the most?

  1. I think I would have to pick the 20s or the 30s. Love those decades. And the 70s fit you very well! I love your glasses, and I can't wait to see you in the car.

  2. HA! I have a couple of pairs of glasses like that too. Actually, one pair reminds me more of Kim Basinger in Batman. Another good 70's movie is "The Conversation." You should check it out. These jeggings look so comfortable and versatile. I can't wait to see what other 70s inspired outfits you pull from your closet.

  4. I'm a huge huge fan of Bullit! I'm impressed you've seen it, cause none of my friends have. Love the oversized glasses! ... My inspirational decade? think would be a little 80's with a touch of the 50´s ... does that even make sense? ...

  6. I think for me, the decade that inspires me the most is the 20s, specially the men's clothes. Yes, I love the shoes, the hats, the blazers.

  7. WOW, this is great! You look so preppy and edgy at the same time, which isn't the easiest thing to pull off. I love those oversized glasses, too! And my favorite fashion decade? That'd have to be the 30s and 50s. It's so typical, but I really can't get enough of pre-WWII fashion and Lucille Ball-style frocks and hats!

  8. This is a great look! I am a fan of the 1940s look. I don't have the exact body type to pull it off, but I love the ladylike look and the simplicity of the clothes. Just lovely.

  10. I loooved Love Story so much! A few months ago on Oprah, she reunited Ali Macgraw and Ryan O'Neal. She is still gorgeous as ever!

  12. Great outfit. It would look great with flared jeans and platforms too! I'm looking forward to seeing something like that next to that Challenger this spring.

  13. I love the glasses! It's hard to pick one decade that inspires me most, but I love 20's-40's glam, and then the 60's-70's bohemian style.
