Things I Love: Wedding Details

The wedding I attended this past weekend was one of the best. The bride, groom and their families put so much attention to detail. Everything about the wedding represented the bride and groom perfectly. From the organic outdoor setting, to the group dance session to the bride's favorite song Dirty Diana, the wedding was a prefect way to celebrate their union.
I couldn't be happier for my friends.

Things I Love: Lakeside

I'm writing this blog post from the deck of a house on the shores of Lake Tahoe blasting my music, currently Mumford and Sons. I think Vanessa is making coffee, i think. It's kind of a radical way to wake up. The weather up here is perfy, and I'm excited to ge dressed up and celebrate my friend's marriage today. There's not much I can complain about. But why would I waste time complaing when I can enjoy this lovely Friday?
Lakeage.

Look of the Day: Tanical

Thursday is my new Friday. And it couldn't come any sooner. Today I am off to Tahoe for a wedding this weekend, and I couldn't be more excited. I haven't made a tip to the mountains for a bit now, and I'm longing for some crisp mountain air. The car is packed with Apples to Apples, lace pants, and my logitec. That means I'm ready for some laughs, dance parties and just pure goofinesss. Having all my besties in one place is pretty much my favorite, I'm kinda giddy right now that my faves are currently in the same zip code as me.
I'm even rocking shorts, cray, cray. Big thanks to Beautisol for hooking up the spray tan, I'm hella tan-i-cal.

How I Shop: It Will Set You Free

When I don't feel that great I do two things. Shop, and blast the heck out my music. And my week has been full of music blasting and shopping. Since I didn't want to do too much damage I headed to Forever 21 to cure my blues.
You'll be seeing a lot of these items in upcoming posts, so here's a preview of some of the goodies I picked up.

Thing I love: BoJangels

FACT: My wrist doesn't seem the same unless it's adorned with bangles.
I like my wrist jangling and my fingers flashing. It's kind of how I roll. And recently I was sent some new arm candy and I'm pretty much obsessed! The Lovely Ladies of Alex and Ani hooked me up with some treasures from their bangle bar. And I got conchy with it. I LOVE how Alex and Ani's jewelry "promote consciousness and unity". They're kind of rad, just sayin. Check them out, their badical bangles the perfect thing to spoil yourself with or to give a hella cool friend.
I'lll take like 10 more if I'm your hella cool friend ;)
IMG_5912.jpg
Rosa from Rosa Loves, is pretty rad as well! She made the purple and blue bracelets I am wearing, and sent them to me.
HAVE I told you the Amber LOVEs Rosa?

Style Icon: I'd Rather Be at Home With Ray

I know it's been posted all over Facebook, reported the news and was the buzz in many of this past weekends conversations. But I can't help post my own tribute of the late and great Amy Winehouse. There was something about her that I related to. Her Age (I cheated myself, I knew I would). Her problems (But I know it don't come in a shot glass). Her Style (Well Sometimes I Go Out by myself). I loved Amy, and her talent (so much so that back in the day Casey threatened to throw my Back to Black CD out the window if I played it one more time). I think in her honor, today I'll throw on a bustier dress and tease some extra volume in my hair. And I'll be rocking some of Amy's songs for sure.
And extra eyeliner. No question.

Look of the Day: What I Wore

Yesterday I attended the What I Wore book launch party hosted by the Shop it To Me ladies. It was so nice to meet Jessica, she was just as sweet as she appears in her outfit pictures. I had a chance to talk to her and after meeting her I knew I had to support and purchased her book, and of course I had to have her sign it. It's so nice to see girls like her taking their blogs to the next level and putting themselves out there. Jessica said that if you think positively and believe something good is going to happen -- it will. And I totally believe that as well. She also said if you think today is your lucky day it will be! And I believe today is my lucky day. I have my fingers crossed that I will win one of the Shop it to Me outfits styled by Jessica. ;)
Wait no need to cross fingers, I know I'm lucky, whether I win the outfit or not.

Look of the Day: There's Something About Amber

I am blessed to have some of the best friends a girl could ask for. They know me to a T. Whether I'm having a Amber, Slamber or Bambi kind of day, they know what to expect. While they might not always get me, they love my silliness anyway, and I'm happy to have them in my life. For example, Jen doesn't always appreciate my style, but she gets it. And when she saw this dress at Urban Outfitters she knew it was "So Amber". So Amber that I had to get it. So Amber that it's pretty much perfect on me, and so Amber almost seems like it's made for me. It could practically be my uniform.
A breton striped dress, that is fun to twirl. Could a girl like me really ask for more?
I think not.
IMG_9337
A pop of red and yellow and I'm good to go!

When I walked into Jen's salon I sold the entire place on the dress.
I think they all just wanted a dress that was SO them too.

Things I Love: Holy Childhood Dreams

It was 1995 and I was 13. Pretty much the start of my boy crazy years, and it was also right around the time when my TV didn't budge from MTV. And there he was every afternoon announcing videos like Waterfalls, Scream, You Don't Know How it Feels, and Hootie's I Only Wanna Be With You. And I only wanted to be with him, my favorite VJ, Simon Rex. I thought he was hella fine and hella funny. Have you seen his episode of cribs!? Flash forward to 2007 and Simon Rex had transformed himself in the super foul, nasty as he wants to be, Dirt Nasty. And for some reason I found his totally raunchy, horribly degrading lyrics, and over the top partying songs hilarious. Perhaps because it seems like such a joke to me.
In any case after our recent LA trip where his buddy, Andre Legacy's song "Which Way to the Mondrian" served as our theme song, Vanessa and I decided we needed to get it out of our system and go see them live once and for all. And we had quite the time.
I wore my Unif Flag shirt, you know I like to festive for things, plus I thought a little attention wouldn't hurt.

and it worked...Childhood dreams resurrected.

Also this week I was lunching at the same spot as Tim Lincecum, you know the SF Giants 2 time Cy Young winning picture? Well I garnered up enough up enough courage to introduce myself and thank him for all that he's done for the Giants. I even asked for a picture which resulted in an epic fail...his friend face-timed his own face....
That's Timmy and I behind the camera in his glasses. Bumski!

It's Mr. Rex's birthday today so here's to wishing him a Palatial Regalia birthday!
