Yesterday was Opening Day of Baseball. I'm not going to lie - it kinda felt like Christmas morning. So what did I do? Threw on my new pair of H&M orange pants to show my team spirit. Even though the Giants ended up losing I still may have to wear these jeans every game. They are the perfect pants to wear to work and cool enough wear to grab drinks in to cheer on the team. Gotta love them. So have you caught on to my trick this year? I had to pull a prank like last year's.

Things I Love: It's Trophy Time

Yesterday Jen and I went to go stand in line to get our pictures taken with the Giants Worlds Series trophy. It felt good to put on some orange and black and to feel the energy of a bunch of other baseball lovers and Giants fans like myself.

My Last Baseball Post of 2011: Championship Parade

Yesterday I attended the Giants World Series Championship Parade and ceremony. It was one of the craziest things I have ever experienced. The only thing that comes close to what I experienced was when we were in Germany this past summer and they won one of their world cup games.

I got on BART at 7:30 and headed out to the madness. I had to choose between watching the Parade or watching the ceremonies at the Civic Center and I choose the ceremony, it was awesome and it brought tears to my eyes. But I have to admit I kind of regret not being on the Parade root. Either way I was there for History and it was an amazing day!

I am so lucky to have attended the Giants last regular season home game when they cliched heir playoff spot in the NCLS. I also was at Game 2 of the 2010 World Series, the last winning home game of the Championship win. And lastly I celebrated at the Parade.
A fabulous way to end the season!

The energy was amazing, and smiles were everywhere.

The crowd there was HUGE!

And the City was bumping!

It was one heck of a day that I'll never forget.

Things I Love: Nine Zip

I've been to a lot of baseball games. I've been to big games before. I was there when Barry Bonds hit his 700th home run. I was at the Oakland A's 20th consecutive win in 2002. I was there for Giant's vs. Marlins Game Two in the 2003 playoff game. And I was there when the Giants clinched the 2010 playoffs. But no game compares to last night's 9-0 World Series victory over the Texas Rangers. The energy, the cheering the excitement was like nothing I have ever seen.

And the Giants showed the Rangers that they're not messing around.

And I was there, orange hair and all.

Sorry for the lack of posts this week, baseball has all but taken over my life. And tonight (thanks to my amazing husband) I am going to my very first World Series Game ever and I couldn't be more excited! I am currently gearing up in outfit {costume perhaps} to root, root for my home team.

To make things even more exciting my long time online Texan friend, Lindsey of HipLip, wagered a bet with me. The fan of losing team will send the a basket of Texas/San Fran goodies to the other. So put your claws down and panda hats on and let's do this thing!!!!!!!!

Look of the Day: Stop the Chop

On Saturday I took a break from my Giants gear (it was a travel day for them) and I put on some festival gear instead. I suppose it was a good idea that I lived it up festival style for the day because Sunday morning I woke up with strep throat.

Normally that wouldn't be a big deal but it is the 5th time I have gotten strep since May, and the four other times landed me in the hospital because my strep progressed immediately into pneumonia, and then into an infection in my blood. I think I caught it early enough this time, but looks like my tonsils going to have to come out.

Sunday was spent laying on the couch, popping penicillin and watching sports. I think the Giants knew I needed some cheering up and stole the game from the Braves for me. Today I will have to get my gear back on, it's time to stop the chop!

I dressed like normal person for one day at least.

Look of the Day: Gotta Support the Team

I was on a high yesterday after the Giants won. I woke up and threw on one of my Giants tees and a tutu. That's right I was in a GOOD mood, and what better time to wear a tutu then the day after Lincecum threw a 9 inning no run game?

Everywhere I went people were rocking their Giants gear and high fiving each other. I have not seen so much sporting pride in the Bay Area for awhile. It almost reminds me of when I was in Germany this summer and the World Cup had the whole Country at a standstill.

Unfortunately last night's game didn't produce the outcome I wanted. But you I know this team of Giants is a team of fighters (and team of beards) and they are going to give me some good games watch. And I will continue to wear crazy outfits to support the team. Face-paint will come out only if necessary!

Things I love: The Panda Army

Well I'm still collecting myself after a very busy weekend including a baby shower, a 50th birthday celebration and an epic Giants game. Casey was so sweet to surprise me with tickets to the game on Sunday. He had a softball tournament on Sunday and felt bad I couldn't watch Saturday's game. I am still shocked he bought me tickets!!!

It was the perfect game with an ending I had been dreaming about. We were right in the mix high fiving the players after the cliched the National League West.

Look of the Day: I Believe in the Church of Baseball

Baseball has been occupying my week nights and my weekends, off days are the worst. The Giants are only a game out, so every game these days is a big one. It's been awhile since we've had a September that even felt that we had a chance.
The games these days have me falling back in love with sport all over again. In fact after the game is over and Baseball Tonight has run it's course, I've been putting Bull Durham on just to get to get my baseball fix. There's only a few weeks left of the season so I've got to soak it up!

Pennie Lane is a big Giants fan as well. She cant wait for tonight's game either.
