Look of the Day: Seven Layer Dip

One thing I love about about getting dressed for fall weather is layers. Layers add dimension and interest to any outfit. My love of layers is one reason it would be very hard for me to be join blog challenges such as Kendi's 30 for 30 challenge.

I could never be limited in how many clothes I would wear. For instance in this outfit consists of seven pieces of clothing, not including accessories. I always wear a tank top under tops and I am layering lace socks over brown socks.

Layers turn clothes into outfits for me. And I love when I am able to pair layers from different stores. It makes me feel like I put the outfit together rather then just taking the outfit off the racks and feeling like someone else dressed me.

Movie of the Moment: Sabrina

I have a slight Audrey Hepburn obsession and owning the complete collection of her work has me watching endless Audrey. Latley Sabrina has been in my rotation. It's a movie about young women going to France to attend culinary school and she returns home with style and sophistication. Does it get any dreamier then that? Well Audrey's wardrobe may, perhaps.
I just love the Turban!

Flowers of the Week: Fall-La-La-La, La-La-La

I love sprinkling my house with flowers of the season. And I am currently loving up my fall blooms while they last. Because in about 17 or so days my halls will be decked and the stockings will be hung. Yup I'm on those people who gets their Christmas tree as soon as Thanksgiving is over.
Although I can't believe how fast that is going to come! Until then I am enjoying my sunflowers and squashes.

Party Prep: It's My Party And I Can Cry If I Want To

Ya'll know I love parties so when it came time to celebrate Vanessa's birthday I went ahead and took care of the decorations. Because a party is never complete without decorations!

The party came together very nicely and I think it's because we all brought something to the table -- or in this case party. I brought the decor, Vanessa brought the food, Betsy brought the specialty deserts, Annie brought the wine and Jen did our hair!

I personalized water bottles and champagne coupes with all the girls' initials.
IMG_9206
And I added Drink me labels to the water bottles.
Available here for printing.
IMG_9211
I put stickers on the caps so people could differentiate their bottles.
IMG_9208
I used Martha Stewart for Micheal's stickers to personalize the coupes.
The coupes were from the Dollar Tree.
IMG_9233
Vanessa brought hummus, dips and crackers from Trader Joes to nibble on when we were getting ready.
IMG_9219
Betsy brought yummy Pastries from Masse's Pastries in Berkley

And of course the fabulous Jen set up shop and gave us all party do's!

Happy birthday V!
I hope you had a great time celebrating!!

Look of the Day: Honey, Put On Your Party Dress

This weekend we celebrated Vanessa's birthday. We had a girls night celebration complete with a hotel stay and we attended a food and wine event. It was a great excuse to put on a party dress, eat yummy food and dance the night away.

After much debate, I decided on a H&M party dress that I bought about a month ago. It ended up being a rainy evening so I added some tights to keep warm and a J Crew necklace to accessorize.
It was a very fun dress to wear, I kind of felt like a doll in it.

Look of the Day: The Dog Days Are Over

As much as I love baseball I have a love affair with fashion too. And I am more then happy to be back in non-sports clothes.

My November is filled with birthday events, an engagement party, a possible trip to LA and if they're lucky -- a high school reunion. Oh and not to mention Thanksgiving festivities!

And I am more then excited to dress the part!

So that's exactly what I did yesterday. Bring on the sweaters, boots and jackets!!

Oh wait...it's 80' degrees out?

Things I Love: The Off Season

In October the Giants may have won the World Series but...
Magazines went unread
IMG_9050
Vases were flowerless.
IMG_9061
Clothes and shoes that weren't orange and black went unworn:
IMG_9053
But that's all changing now.

Thanks for bearing with me and all my baseball related posts!
YAY FOR REGULAR CLOTHES!
I missed them!
Look of the Day, Flower of the week and non Baseball related Things I Love posts coming soon.

My Last Baseball Post of 2011: Championship Parade

Yesterday I attended the Giants World Series Championship Parade and ceremony. It was one of the craziest things I have ever experienced. The only thing that comes close to what I experienced was when we were in Germany this past summer and they won one of their world cup games.
IMG_8771
I got on BART at 7:30 and headed out to the madness. I had to choose between watching the Parade or watching the ceremonies at the Civic Center and I choose the ceremony, it was awesome and it brought tears to my eyes. But I have to admit I kind of regret not being on the Parade root. Either way I was there for History and it was an amazing day!
IMG_8831
I am so lucky to have attended the Giants last regular season home game when they cliched heir playoff spot in the NCLS. I also was at Game 2 of the 2010 World Series, the last winning home game of the Championship win. And lastly I celebrated at the Parade.
A fabulous way to end the season!
IMG_8849
The energy was amazing, and smiles were everywhere.
IMG_8947
The crowd there was HUGE!

And the City was bumping!

It was one heck of a day that I'll never forget.

Things I Love: Winner Takes All

First of all Thank you for al the Halloween Costume Comments and Compliments.
I just love making costumes!

Last week I recieved my Guerlain Gift prize basket that I won from Styleite Style Sheets Guerlain Giveaway Winner. Remember the one that was picked by Rachel Zoe!?
Even though I recieved it last week I have been too caught up in Baseball to check the products out, today I gave them a look.

I am not a beauty girl and have never owned such luxurious and expensive products before. Honestly I am a little afraid to take them out of their boxes! But I wanted to share with you the products and ask if anyone knows anything about them.

I need to go check the reviews. The packaging is super cool, very James Bond-ish.
IMG_8683
Check out this super crazy Lipstick case.
I would feel very fancy or under cover spy busting this out.
IMG_8706
It has it's own built in mirror, it's super cool!
IMG_8710
And I still have one more product being shipped to me! I can't believe it!
And speaking of winning...LET's GO GIANTS!
