Amber's {LA Trip} Notebook: What I Wore

I love going on vacation and going out and getting dressed up. In a place like LA and staying at the Mondrian in particular I can get away with wearing things I might not be able to pull off at home. Unfortunately I'm not the best packer and really focused more on my dresses then what I was going to wear during the day. Actually I packed about 15 bikinis, because you know you can never have enough bikinis on vacation, or maybe just in life. Here are a few snapshots of my outfits.

Things I love: Travel Treats

As I have mentioned before, in regards to my trip to Europe ,when I am out of my zip code I like to use it as an excuse to partake in some indulgent eating and drinking. And the nice thing about LA is that finding healthy food and vegetarian grub is not hard to do. Here is some my documentation of the places we checked out.
Borracho on Sunset. We had a really fun time there. Every dish we ordered was great. A Pineapple shrimp quesadilla? YES PLEASE!
And they had a really cool selection of margaritas, not to mention a sweet double happy hour.
I am usually don't order them but the Horny margarita was so good!
The lounge at the Mondrian had changed since January so it was cool to check out the new scene.

Breakfast fare on Venice Beach.
Well worth the 5 mile walk.
Insalada ricci from Back on the Beach.
Amazing!
Beet salad from Cravings Restaurant on Sunset Blvd.

I heart Coffee bean!
Necessary road trip junk food.

Weekend Recap: Saying Goodbye, Saying Goodbye to Hollywood

Happy Monday!! I hope you are having a great day and had a fabulous weekend. I know I sure did. Despite waking up with what I thought was a cold on Friday I ended up powering through the weekend and made a last minute road trip down to LA and I'm SO glad I did! I hadn't been my last amazing trip in January, and wow it had been too long. I had a blast visiting my sister's new place in LA, showing my Mom and friend Mandy around my favorite places in Hollywood and just enjoying the heck out of life. I even got to reenact my Briney Spears encounter at it's original location. Gosh I love LA and last minute adventures.
My Happy Place.

Sunset Marquis.
Wendy, it was Bumping.
Venice Beach.
Santa Monica

Did I mention how I love the beach?
Marion Davies' Guest House
Obsessed with old Hollywood.

Ready For Those Flashing Lights.
Papa Paparazzi!Britney encounter re-enactment:
Starring me as myself, Andrea as Britney Spears and Mandy as Sean Preston.

The OPP crew
Coffee Bean in Malibu. A must stop for me every trip I make down to SoCal.
You know I hit up Planet Blue...
Loving life.

So. Hard. To. Leave.
I like to take a minute to a few people:
My Mom for everything, including planning a trip to LA and sparking the urge for me to go.
My sister for living in LA and providing me with a place to stay, and for being my Designated Driver.
My Husband for allowing me to letting me go whereever the wind blows me when he is busy with softball.
Mandy for pressuring me to go even when I was afraid I was sick. And for letting me show her around for her first trip to LA!!!
My Dad and Rena because they just rock and inspire me to dream big.
Dustin for putting up with us crazies and for getting us into the club I wanted to check out.
Wendy for finding the coolest places in LA!! Can't wait to meet you there again!
And for anyone who took the time to read or comment on this post!

Wake up in the Morning Feeling like P.Diddy

Grab my glasses, I'm out the door I'm gonna hit this city
We had an Legen...Wait For It...Dary trip!! I had SUCH a good time! Anyways here is a recap of pictures.
Tick-Tock on the Clock.
Many "Artistic" pics were taken...
TONS of hotel lobby hanging out (AKA Celeb stalking) occurred. We saw Paul McCartney, The Jersey Shore Crew(which everyone else cared about but us) and lots of other C listers!
More Stalking from my hotel room.
Outfits were worn, and bad pictures were taken. For some reason (the lighting? my focus) my outfit pictures were not turning out.
ANSI and I.And the Mirror as a TV.
Lots of this was consumed.
And WAY too much of this. Thanks to Wendy and Andi, I was CLEARLY the party animal of the group!!! It was a personal Amber party every night for sure.Which may or may not have lead to the consumption of this, à la Britney.

Image source unknown but we can assume it was from TMZ
And we will miss you CoCo. I had to take a pic of this moment in time!!
And my in flight entertainment. Bet you didn't know I am an origami dollar bill artist did you? ;)And to answer any questions...Britney was Brunette, and STUNNING in person, a seriously gorgeous girl but totally sloppy and dressed horribly. Her kids, though, were dressed to the nines and her mom was totally put together. Like Britney they were all SOOO good looking, wow! Our "moment" lasted a couple of minutes and was way too "intimate" to take pictures. Now one else was around but hotel workers so I did my best to "play it cool" but honestly it was like a dream sequence, and my heart was POUNDING!! I am a dork, what can I say? She came off as shy, but then again the only words I muster up were "It's more fun then a play ground" referring to the chairs her kids were playing on. Ahhhh! I still cannot believe i saw her and SOO close!!!! I LOVE HER!!! OK I am off to catch up on my google reader and blog reading, it is over flowing!
