Look of the Day: The Max

Maybe it's me but when I hear the word Max, Zack Morris and Ac Slater immediately pop in my head. That show made my summer mornings as a kid. I mean Zach Morris? How hot was that guy? Plus Jessie taught me to stay away from caffeine pills. Who wants to study all the time anyway? Little Lisa Turtle and her outfits ways were the epitome of 90's fashion. Screech showed me you can be a geek and still hang with the cool kids. And I mean I practically grew up with Tiffiani Amber Theisan. As Kelly Kapowski or Valeire Malone, I was pretty sure since we both had Amber in our names we shared a connection...
In any case here is me rocking a a skirt to the max for the latest Bloggers Do it Better Challenge.

Look of the Day: Prepster

When putting outfits together I like outfits that set me apart just a bit. My goal is to never wear exactly what everyone is wearing. The latest Bloggers Do It Better Challenge was to put together an outfit based on the America Prep School style -- bow tie/tie and blazer/vest required. It was fun to play around with my Urban Outfitters bow and I always love rocking a blazer. While the colors of my outfit are anything but typical prepster, I though the very light pink was the perfect way to soften up this look. I also added the readers to add the perfect preppy finishing touch. It was a really fun look to rock for a day, and it was bold enough to warrant compliments from strangers. And wearing it made me feel anything but ordinary.

Look of the Day: White Hot

I have been participating in Pretty Shiny Sparkley's Blogger's Do it Better challenge and I am loving how it inspires me to push myself to really look at what I have in my closet and come up with new outfits from things I already have. This week's challenge was to put together an outfit aligned with this spring's white on white trend. When I heard about the challenge I figured I would wear my cream forever lace skirt because I don't currently any white or cream pants. So I started putting my outfit together from there.

I was picturing the skirt with one of my white or cream blouses, but that didn't work. So on a whim I threw on my favorite Free People sweater and I loved how it looked. I added some white vintage earrings {courtesy of Annie} and some cream bracelets and heels. I've never been one for monochromatic outfits but I really loved how this look turned out -- it had such a powerful, yet elegant effect.
