Chartreuse is fast becoming one of my favorite colors. Funny thing is, I didn't know what color chartreuse was until just a few years ago. You see, I was under the impression chartreuse was a reddish shade. I never mentioned my mistake before but today I decided to investigate aka Google. Good old Wikipedia informed me that it was not my mistake for not correctly knowing what hue chartreuse is; in fact it was Crayola's fault.
"This was a mistake most likely due to the fact that the Crayola crayon company incorrectly labeled an amber-like color in 1972 as being chartreuse; this color was in 1990 re-labeled Atomic Tangerine."

Ah ha! Right in the prime of my color learning experience and the height of my crayon usage, Crayola had misinformed me. It wasn't my mistake after all, perhaps it was my mistake for relying on Crayola for my color expertise. In any case, I am a big fan of crayons. To this day I have a jar full of them on my desk. So I forgive you Crayola for misguiding me, we all make mistakes.
"We could learn a lot from crayons; some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, while others bright, some have weird names, but they all have learned to live together in the same box."
