Look of the Day: Three Day Weekend

I had a heck of a weekend, which subsequently rolled into Monday. I will be recapping soon, but for now, here is my outfit from yesterday. Monday afternoon's have now been reserved for my "niece" Isa (Jen's sister's baby).
Jen, Ash and I took Isa on a walk stopped in Gap and I grabbed her this adorable outfit (Sweater + skirt).
Yup, I got her a girl skirt (how genius are the attached leggings?) and a boy sweater. I want Isa to be original!
I also picked up this hat & belt for myself. It was a nice way to start my week in town.

Fit:
Roxy Quicksilver New Twist Tube Dress (I love it SO much I may have to get it in this color as well).
Forever 21 Glasses
and I ended up scoring these forever 21 earring and rocking them with too.
Aren't they rad?

Look of the Day: Cause When You're Hot its Like You're Burnin Up Everyone Else's Cold

It's hella hot today. How hot? Hella. That's right, summer finally arrived here in California. I was waiting for a heat wave to come around, and it sure is here now. It's been such a strange summer, I've only used the pool a few times, and my dresses sat mainly unused for most of the season as well. Looks like I will get good use out of both this week! Seriously, it's one of those 108' days. I can't even imagine how hot it for people who live further north or east of me are doing, it's brutal!
So hot that I actually rocked shorts.
H&M vest, Gap Shorts, H&M Necklaces, Report sandals.
How do you beat the heat?

Look of the Day: I am Not Sick but I'm Not Well

I can't believe this morning was the first day in 6 days I woke up in my own house. Being in the hospital that long was like going a vacation and staying in a bad hotel, or something like that. So waking up at home made me feel like I wasn't sick anymore, in fact I thought I was feeling so much better that I started acting like I was normal and started going about my day. But I quickly learned I have very little energy. So back to taking it easy I go.
Since I am taking it easy, I still haven't really ventured outside the house, or gotten ready for leaving the house. It has been over a week since I have worn my staple mascara or wedges. And I actually decided I am not putting mascara back on until I am back to normal, something about seeing myself in the mirror without mascara reminds me I need to take it easy and to relax. I did however try on my new Pierre Hardy for Gap wedges with my outfit today. They arrived while I was in the hospital and had been waiting to be opened up. They are pretty funky and not all that practical but I adore the big bow and chunky wedge. And they seemed super comfortable, even for being sky high!

Thinking I was good to go for the day, I was actually contemplating going shopping.
Not a chance.
Close up of shoes.
These are "me" shoes for sure!
After realizing shopping in stores was not in my cards today, I swiftly headed back to my computer for some online retail therapy and removed my wedges.

Even when in chill mode wearing a shirt made me feel a little more put together then a hoodie would have. And my chambray shirt is so soft and is just as comfy.
All about comfort: an H&m tunic, Urban outfitters bralette , an old head-wrap and once again my hospital bracelet. That bracelet is not coming off until I venture outside of the house, just another reminder to chill.
Lastly I received an Edible Arrangement today! It was so fun and yummy. I have only been craving fruit and turkey sandwiches (yes I have been eating meat!) so this arrangement was perfect!
Thank you Dave, Christine, Karen and Steve!
Yay for fancy fruit, fun footwear and finally realizing what it means to relax.

Look of the Day: Hanging By a Moment

I am still tripod-less, so on Sunday I took my camera outside to take some pictures. I wore my Gap shorts, a Free People Top from last year, H&M hat and some random sandals I bought one day when my feet were too hot to keep them in shoes. Actually, I do that often. I have a tendency to prepare for the cold, especially when it comes to my feet, which get old very easily That one reason I don't wear ballet flats in the fall and winter. I think I spent every moment I could on Sunday outside, oh wait, I mean I spent every moment I could playing Words with Friends and Chess with Friends, with Casey, on our iPhones. We have an on going battle, I rock the Words with Friends, but my Chess Game could use some work.
I literally hung my camera from a tree branch to take these pictures.
At this point I was just happy the camera had not fallen yet.
Okay here's to lots more sunshine and inspired May outfits!
