Things I love: Organizing

While I can be very messy I do find joy in organizing. In an attempt to keep my new girly room and new shoe closet neat, I have been finding 'homes" and places for everything. I find that if everything has a designated area to be I am able to stay top of things.
Here are some of the ways I am organizing my girly room.

Casey kept saying my new room looks like a Coach store.
And a boutique vibe is kind of what I feeling for the room as well.

Girly Room: Shoe Closet Reveal

I've been working hard on putting together the re-vamp my girly room. My girly room is part, closet, part craft room (to be reveled later) and a place where I can go to create and get inspired. Whether I am creating crafts, blog posts, outfits; or reading books, magazines and listening to music, my craft room is my little area to be me. And I love it!!
Big thank you to my husband Casey for putting it together!

Things I Love: Spring Cleaning

I've admitted it before, but I am kinda of messy. I'm also a borderline hoarder.
IMG_5441
Well things started to get out of control in my girly room.
iPads had no homes, USB cords were lost in the sea of madness and books and magazines and things of sort became piled, upon piles.
IMG_5445
Finally my super tidy husband decided to step in a help me.

He spent the weekend building me cabinets and shelves. My pile of shoes finally have a home! I feel so Mariah Carey!!!

I'm still organizing and purging everything but I hope to share the 'after' pictures later this week! I couldn't be more excited!!

Look of the Day: New View

I was having a rough day yesterday. I had a rash on my face and in all honesty I didn't want to leave my house. I didn't even want to get dressed, let alone take pictures. So I didn't try and I just threw on some clothes; but for my own personal record I wanted pictures. And you know what? What I saw wasn't all that bad. It was like looking at myself though some other persons eyes. And I realized I was just making myself have a bad day. Surprising how a new perspective can change your attitude. And then I went and saw my girlfriends - love them! It turned out my day really wasn't as bad as I had made it out to be.

Since we're being honest here, ya'll get a peak at the current state of my girly room.
I can make quite the mess.

Flowers of the Week: Perfectly Pink

I can be a bit of a hoarder. And I can let things pile up. I can even be messy. Or Casey would say very messy. And let's face it, my girly room had been lacking in attention. It was becoming a place to pile Christmas presents, magazines, and out of season clothes. But after I purchased a perfectly girly bouquet I felt inspired to clean her up. When I spent time cleaning up my neglected girly room and remembered how cozy and inspiring it can be.
Perhaps I will get my craft on soon!

I love how the addition of Christmas lights lights up my perfume bottles like they are in a store display.

I also added some ornaments to my feather wreath, for a festive touch.

And my girly Bouquet that got me motivated.

Now, let's hope I can keep it clean!

Flowers of the Week: Dahling, be a doll.

I am just loving the flowers from my Farmers Market. This week these gorgeous Dahlia's spoke to me and I knew I had to purchase them. Their color is much deeper in person and I just love all the dimensions in the blooms. This bouquet is more organic and natural then arranged, but I think it suits the Dahlia's impressive blooms. They were the perfect touch to my girly room.

Flowers of the Week: Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Peace

The farmer's market is one of my favorite places to go. It's always filled with interesting people and I love chatting with the vendors. When picking out flowers the florist told me to look for a flower that speaks to me and that would be the bouquet i should pick. And right away I saw a flower that spoke to me. I think it was calling for me because it reminded me of Jen, maybe because she likes pink so much. It was the prefect bouquet to brighten up my girly room all week.
I always love how the flowers from the farmers market come wrapped in newspaper.

Look of the Day: Pennie Loafer

Although I suspect I will be be lounging most of this weekend, it will be so nice to wear anything but a hospital gown, that thing will surely not be missed. And even though I was not wearing an outfit today, throwing on a snazzy headband, like the Forever 21 one I wore today, made my sweats feel a little bit more like and outfit. Well anything feels more like an outfit then a hospital gown. But my statement headband didn't encroach on my comfort level but it added just enough pizazz to make my sweats and tee shirts feel like a quasi-outfit and had me feeling ready for any visitors who popped by.
Oh How I missed this place..
Pennie Lane was waiting for me.
Casey was nice enough to have the house nice and clean for my arrival home. And my girly room looked nothing like I had left it. I don't know how he worked this magic.
We just chilled, and had a nice afternoon and evening loafing around.
I sure missed her!
Rocking some juicy snap pocket pants, American Apparel Tee Shirt, Similar Forever 21 twisted headband and a complimentary hospital bracelet.
Yay for headbands that make your feel put together, the perfect tee and a blog community full of positive supportive ladies!!

On the Hunt: Through the Looking Glass

Clearly I need a new mirror in my room. Somehow, which is beyond me since I post pictures of myself in it nearly every day, I have neglected a very important part of my girly room. MY MIRROR! So I am currently on the hunt for a cheval mirror for my room. Although I want a white one, if I have learned anything from Holly I know just to look at shape and not color. The color can be changed.
Although antique would be preferred here are some ideas that I am looking at.

Things I love: Book Stacks

I love buying books and as much as I would love to have a Kindle one day there is just something about stacking books that appeals to my eye. I love to stack books around my house for cheap and easy ways to add charter to my home. I have stack of books in almost every room of my house and rotate them with the seasons or my mood. Here are some of my book stacks that I have piled around the house.
Beautiful Classics.

They can help a room form a theme. These are the books I have in the Dude room (too bad they are all my books, sans the Arnold one).
Fashion Books are some of my favorite to collect! I have many of them that I rotate to inspire me.
You know I have Barbie books!
