Look of the Day: Two Thumbs Up

Yesterday I worked at the local soup kitchen, setting up, preparing and serving food and cleaning up. Local businesses and farms donate the food, that we bag up to give to families, as well as serve them lunch. I have volunteered there and the food bank, it's super fun and they always need help and donations.
For dinner Casey and I went back to the same restaurant that I went to the previous night. I guess I have been eating out a lot lately. There have just been a lot of new restaurant openings and reasons to go out. My favorite part about the new restaurants is that they all buy their produce from local farms.
Since that means so much to me, and I am fortunate enough to be able to eat out when I feel like, I like to support businesses like that. The brothers that owned the resturant were so pleased that I came back they sent over a dessert! I forget what it was called but it was pumpkin and so good! I can't wait to go back again.
For dinner I wore a F21 top. After I purchase this top I saw on Kim's blog and the Look 4 Less as lower priced version of an Anthro top. Sweet! I just loved the big bow.

Oh...look who popped in!
Forever 21 top (I no longer see it online) , J Brand Jeggings, and Kenneth Cole wedges.
I'm not a big dessert person, but I love pumpkin pie and this tasted just like it.
I definitely gave this two thumbs up.

Santa....I know him!

I had a really great day today and I hope you did as well! It started with Toys For Tots, which was amazing. It felt great to help out families and make their Christmases Merry! I had a great time playing Santa! Although I think it is important to help all year long, as I have been doing at the food bank this year, I do love that people go out of their way to help this time of year.

And Aside from playing Santa Claus, I also got some smiles from:
J featuring me as a guest blogger on The Look For Less, her intro to my post was so sweet! Chelsea also made my day by posting about her shopping haul! This made me smile from ear to ear! Don't ever tell me you don't have style again =)And lastly my first published Fashion Article went live on LimeLife.com. If all goes well I will be periodically posting there.

And a recap of the day:
Our Instructions for handing out toys, those kids got more then one toy, for sure! Each family also got art supplies, flip flops, socks and board games. As well as blankets, clothes, bags of food, Gift-cards for 2 shoes at Payless shoes and a Safeway giftcard.
I continued my holiday spirit by picking up some presents.
And I couldn't help but pick up a few things for myself... All from Urban.
Hope you had a great Monday as well! And thank you to any new readers from The Look For Less!

Look of the Day: The Gift of Giving

I am continuing the Christmas spirit today by volunteering at Toys for Tots! I am working with my practically little sister K, and we will be pairing toys with kid's wish-lists. I am very excited to play "Santa". If you get a chance you should definitely donate a toy to your local chapter!

Also Check out my List of Favorite Things of 2009 on the Look For Less. I am so honored to be asked to participate! Thank you J!

Some Things Never Change

It's Friday night and what am I doing? Well besides blogging, I am playing dress up. Funny how as a kid I loved to dress up my Barbies and now I am still doing the same thing. Just now I am the blonde who gets to wear the fun outfits and stilettos. Tomorrow night I have an event to go to that will showcase some of the very best restaurants in my area, and even better all proceeds benefit the local food bank. I volunteered at the local food back quite a few times this year so I am happy to trade my hairnet in for a snazzy dress and some heels tomorrow night. Tonight though, I tried on some outfits. I'm still not sure what I am going to rock but I had just as much playing dress up tonight as I did back in the day when I used to play Barbies with my sis.

Some of the dresses up for contention.
Fun heels of course.

And if you, like me, don't have any plans this Friday night, try taking this quiz to find out which Sesame Street character you are. The quiz was sent to me by a blog reader Kirsten, thanks Kirsten! It was a a cute quiz but Umm I got Oscar! Not sure what that means but maybe that is why I am home alone on a Friday night! LOL!! I'm sure my Mom and sister will find the result oh so Hilarious;) If you happen to be bored and take it let me know who you got. I love how the result came on notebook paper, I may have to make this my new header ;)
