Look of the Day:ER
So I have been complaining that I have been sick all week and I sure was right. On my way home last night I started having a coughing attack, was very short of breath and had extreme pain in my chest. I had lost all color in my lips and face when I arrived home so Casey rushed me to the ER and I was immediatly admitted under chest pain. After two hours of blood tests, heart monitors, an EKG, Xrays and an IV it was determined I had a bad case of pneumonia. I am now back home resting but looks like I'll be couch potato-ing it up this Memorial day weekend. Please go out and have lots of fun so I can live vicariously through you and will have lots of reading material. I am too sick to sit up and us my computer but my iPhone is getting me through my day. I can't wait until I am back up wearing normal clothes! I felt pretty Darth Vader last night. Oh and to top it off Casey has strep throat, nice.

OMG! I hope you feel better soon. I have had pneumonia, it was the worst feeling. Any slight movement the first few days hurts so bad, even getting up to walk to the bathroom took me out of breath.

ReplyDeleteoh no- feel better! Pneumonia is the worst- I got it last year (while on vacay in the dominican lets talk about bad luck,) and it took me over a month to feel normal again. Hope you feel better soon! Bright side is you'll probably be better enough to be up an about a bit in a day or two those antibiotics work pretty quick

OMG-You poor thing!!! I hope they gave you some kick ass antibiotics and that you can kick this quickly. You and Casey can cuddle all weekend...just don't get strep! ACK!

ReplyDeleteHere's the med student in me coming out: Did you know two strains of the same bug (Streptococcus) can cause either strep throat or pneumonia? If it's bacterial pneumonia, you probably have Strep. pneumoniae. "strep throat" is caused by Strep. pyogenes. Random medical fact of the day...
They probably gave you a Z-pack and/or a shot of antibiotics. That should take care of you in no time!
Either way, it's no fun, and I'm hoping you get better super fast! You will, because you're young and healthy so your immune system will be kicking some major butt!
