Things I Love: Taco Tuesday

If you hadn't noticed, I love reasons to celebrate. And if a summer Tuesday evening isn't good enough, how about my four year anniversary of my last night of being a single lady? After my Mom's friend Debbie sent over a plethora of peppers and squash from her garden, I decided it would be a taco (or fajita) Tuesday! Fresh fruits and veggies inspire me. And we had a nice mellow night of local foods and baseball. I love summer nights...
I started with mango smoothies, simply purred mango and fresh lime juice. Served in my vintage champagne coupes and enjoyed poolside.
I bet this would have made an awesome margarita!
Fresh squash and peppers straight from the garden!
Chicken fajitas for Casey.
And squash fajitas for me.
Served with mango and black bean salad, fresh guac and Greek yogurt.
Yay for garden veggies, mellow nights and simple reasons to be happy!
What is your favorite way to spend a summer night?

Look of the Day: Dirty Mouth? Clean it Up!

I am SO glad you are as excited about the Bow Necklace giveaway as I am. I thought you would love it!! And one of you will be lucky to have one for free! Even I had to buy my own =)

I thought the Oscars were very entertaining. I loved Alex Bladwin and Steve Martin, and OMG of course Neil Patrick Harris. I heart him! there were lots of gorgeous dresses, although nothing really blew me away. I felt like a lot of my favorite stars were not there this year. I liked Anna Kendrick's dress but I wasn't a fan of her shoes paired with her dress. I loved Nicole Richie's look because it was different and I thought she stood out, Zoe Saldana also stood out in the crowd. I though Tina Fey finally looked fabulous and Meryl Streep looked amazing! Demi Moore and Rachel Adams were also on my list of dresses that caught my eye. Clearly ruffles and pleats are here to stay for a bit. And lots of poofy dresses, I liked that winners Sandra Bullock and Kathryn Bigelow did not wear poofy dresses.

Random but when I say Hurt Locker in my Head it is sounds like how the lady on the Orbit's Gum commercial says "Lint Licker"...Weird I know. Anyways I loved Hurt Locker (Link Licker) it had me yelling and screaming and on the edge of my seat!

I had a mini Oscar party complete with hors d'oeuvres and red {velvet} carpet cupcakes.
Had to post this for the other Andi in my Life ;)
Cupcakes, a cake stand and champagne coupes. I felt oh, so Marie Antoinette!
Prize for Oscar Predictions:
My outfit: I am wearing the necklace I am giving away! And my top is Torn, and is last years version of this top.
And I picked up a few Lauren Conrad pieces at Kohls yesterday. I got this dress, this sequin cardigan, and this blouse.
While shopping at Kohls I earned $20 so I am debating spending it on these boyfriend jeans this moto jacket or this skirt. I have to go back this week before it expires. Decisions, decisions. hehe.

Hope your week started off well! I loved this tweet about Monday's from Joel Madden today:
"Happy Monday everybody. Today is the day you get to decide what kind of week your gonna have!"
I decided I am going to have great week, how about you??

Look of The Day: Two drifters off to see the world. There's such a lot of world to see.

I got an early Valentines day treat today!! My Mother in Law is pretty much the coolest! She stopped by tonight with some Valentines Day treats for me (well and my Nieces but they have to wait for theirs) and I have to say she was looking pretty amazing and hip this evening. I hope my MIL, who never had any daughters, now thinks as my Sister In Law Rebecca and I both as daughters because she sure spoils us like we were her own. Not only does she take take time to read my blog regularly(and share the link with her friends) and she also always looks out for me. And ever since my "On the Hunt" post about champagne coupes she too has been on the hunt for them. I now how a collection that even Marie Antoinette or Holly Golighty would envy. And what makes them even better is that they are the real thing, fabulous and vintage! No longer shall I use regular drinking glasses, Champange coupes is all it is! Thank you so much Shelia for my Valentines Day Treats. I love you!
My outfit today, after a week of pouting about the prolonging of winter, I decided not to wallow in my spring wishes and instead relish in the items I can only wear a few weeks longer. Like my favorite Joie Twiggy Over the Knee boots. LOVE! I will miss these all spring and summer! I did not wear them enough.
And my favorite Joie Tunic {similar here}which spurred my favorite blog comment of all time made by the ever fabulous Chloe! Who Knew she was poet?
Dear Vanessa Hudgons,
There once was a girl with no pants,
She starred in a movie where she would sing and dance,
Then a blogger came along,
And wore it so well- that same tunic of chiffon,
And looked much more styleish that you didn't EVEN have a chance.

Bravo! *claps*

And my Valentine's day Surprise!!! Coupes!!
And our special personalized glasses that Shelia made for us! She is SO crafty and made us each personailzed beaded glasses. You know, so we know who's glass to fill up higher ;)
And of course these coupes influenced me to watch Breakfast at Tiffany one last time before it no longer available On Demand! And you better bet that tomorrow morning I will be drinking my orange juice or {almond} milk, or maybe green monster out of one of these a'la Holly. And I can only imagine my morning toast will involve a tribute to late and great Alexander McQueen. A legend was lost today... His presence and influence will be forever missed.
