Things I Love: APPle

One thing I love about blogging is how it has connected me to some many new people and companies. I've meet some amazing people and been able to go to some awesome places because of the blog. Just this week I got to visit a company about to launch up & coming iPhone App.

I was invited to to tour their offices, meet their team and be a tester of their app. It's been fun watching the company develop and I can't wait to share the app with you when it finally launches! The ladies on the team are some of my faves and we a had blast trying on products and snapping pictures. I feel so blessed to have formed such great relationships with amazing companies in the area.

After my time with the PM ladies I met my Dad and Rena for a bite to eat at an adorable French Bistro called Bistro Vida in Menlo Park. Such a cute area!
It was nice catching up with my Dad and Rena and I always love going to new restaurants.


I must get my bike riding skills from my Dad because was more then excited to show me his suped up bike. Just don't ask him about his stingray or how he biked from Carson City to Tahoe on a dare...
He even has an iPhone holder & a special app to track his rides. Clearly the APPle does not fall far from the tree.

It's been a nice & productive week so far. I hope your week has been going well as well!

Amber's {flower} Notebook

Receiving flowers as a gift is always something I appreciate. When I was younger I remember giving flowers and at the time I thought of it like a gift card, if you can't think of anything else to give someone, give them flowers. I suppose at the time I didn't appreciate fresh flowers, now I love to give and receive flowers. When I give flowers I love to pick out blooms and colors especially for the recipient and I often opt to give flowers to people I know don't often treat themselves to fresh beauties.
When I receive flowers it's always special because it's usually a bouquet I wont pick for myself, and it's often more extravagant then I would indugle in for myself. Sometimes I am gifted a flower that I have never seen at my market or Trader Joes ,which always excites me. Flowers and nature are meant to admired, cherished and respected, and I feel like fresh flowers remind me of this, so I love sharing and enjoying those feelings with others.

Happy Birthday Dad!
My Dad is my biggest supporter and always encourages me to dream big. My Dad is also the reason why I love to shop, am an Elvis fan and have a thing for costume changes. I love my Dad so much and so lucky to have such a great Dad.

My Dad rocks. My whole life he has gone above and beyond to make sure I have absolutely everything I need. Last night he and my Step Mom Rena drove out my way to take my Mom, Casey and I out to Dinner. Not celebrate his awesomeness on this Father's Day weekend, but to take us our to dinner before our trip. But that's just my Dad for you, he always goes out of his way to make me happy.
Ever since I was a kid my Dad encouraged me to dream big and set my goals high. In high school for my Senior project my Dad (and my mom) set up a trip for me to go to Huntington beach to job shadow a fashion designer at
Roxy Quicksilver, my FAVORITE brand at the time (more on that obsession here). As a teenager, obsessed with Roxy and Fashion Designing, that trip was one that I will never ever forget. And I will never forget how my parents encouraged me to have such big dreams. Thank you Taylor for reminding me of my Roxy love.
As an adult he still does so much for me, and that includes telling anyone and everyone he knows about my blog. He even offered to take over and help out with the blog when I am on my trip, but I'm not sure the internet is ready for that. Not to worry though, I would never let my #1 blog fan down (my Dad) and I will be updating on my trip. I love you Dad and am I so lucky to have you as my DAD!!!

Birthday Party Recap: Heinz 57 Varieties

Ketchup was the theme of the party yesterday. Which is just perfect for me since that is my favorite condiment and the Heinz 57 was perfect for my Dad's 57th birthday. We had a great time playing board games, my friend Mandy and I decided we are making our own version of Guess Who with pictures of our friends!! My Step Mom Rena sure knows how to throw a party, she step up a salad bar and had the cutest little soup tureens for the potato soup she made. She also brought over an amazing cake!! I don't even like cake but this was seriously one of the best cakes I have ever had. I didn't end up wearing the Yumi Kim top and I also didn't get a Look of the Day post but I had lots of fun!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!

I am so lucky to have such a wonderful Dad. He does everything and anything for me. When we were growing up he ran for the local School Board (on top of his regular job) to help make our schools better. He made sure to spend every moment he had with us. And even though he traveled a lot he sent us postcards every time he was out of town and always brought a special treat back. When my parents got divorced he made sure that changed our lives as little as possible. He came over to our house, instead of making us split the weekends. And he also came over every year on Christmas morning so we didn't have to have two Christmases. My Dad taught me many things over the years how to be generous(to a fault), work hard, and to dream big. He also taught me to love Tabasco, be corny as heck, give directions by using gas stations and car dealerships as landmarks and to have a really big shoe collection. His style is pretty cool as well. He won Best Dressed back in High school and I think I might have picked some of his awarding winning style. Love you Dad!
