Things I Love: Take Me Out To The Ball Game

Yesterday was the perfect weather for a day at the Ball park and the game was really good as well! It lasted 13 innings before the Giants won, WOooHooo! We had blast eating ball park fare and hooting and hollering it up for our team. Here are some of pictures from the day.

How I shop: For Ketchup

know Courtney is with me on this). I like is so much that I buy it in 7 lbs cans. That's right, I said in Seven Pound Cans. Sorry but little 32 ouncers don't cut it for me. Plus my way is environmentally friendly, economical and down right fun. Right!??
I funnel my ketchup can in to reusable containers.

Birthday Party Recap: Heinz 57 Varieties

Ketchup was the theme of the party yesterday. Which is just perfect for me since that is my favorite condiment and the Heinz 57 was perfect for my Dad's 57th birthday. We had a great time playing board games, my friend Mandy and I decided we are making our own version of Guess Who with pictures of our friends!! My Step Mom Rena sure knows how to throw a party, she step up a salad bar and had the cutest little soup tureens for the potato soup she made. She also brought over an amazing cake!! I don't even like cake but this was seriously one of the best cakes I have ever had. I didn't end up wearing the Yumi Kim top and I also didn't get a Look of the Day post but I had lots of fun!
The closest thing to a look of the day picture.
All about the 57!
Yummy cake. Vanilla, vanilla, VANILLA! And mini carrot cake, chocolate and raspberry cupcakes. Aren't they CUTE!!?? They are from Kara's Cupcakes, my new go-to cupcake bakery!

Here's to a great 57th year Dad!!
OMG the Grammy's are blowing me away right now!!!!!

Look of the Day: Home Sweet Home

As fun as going out of town is, coming home always feels amazing! I spent the day catching up on things and getting back into regular life mode, in other words I stayed home ALL day except for a quick trip down to Yogurtland because Casey made me. I also was really happy to be home and making food at home. I always get so messed up when I travel, I don't eat in the morning because I hate breakfast food and that seems to be the only thing besides coffee I can find. I also have a hard time being on a weird schedule, I mean I ate CHEETOS! I never eat Cheetos, Casey was upset I choose to eat Cheetos when he was not around to have any LOL! Anyways so I was SO happy to be home and to eat food I had purchased, prepared and planned for. And at times I like to eat =). Well my Britney encounter is still fresh in my mind so naturally when Casey dragged me out of the house I wore a fedora and cowboy boots, if I start walking out of public restrooms barefoot somebody stop me!
And YAY for real food! Remember when my oven broke and I had to wait around for the repair man?? It FINALLY got fixed today! Can you believe I went a MONTH without it working!??? Well I put it use today when I made roasted brussel sprouts and lentils. The brussel sprouts are dressed in a Dijon vinaigrette that I just threw together.Served with Ketchup, Tabasco sauce and Greek yogurt, naturally.
Casey was craving something sweet so he dragged me to Yogurtland with him. I am not big on sweets so I get mostly fruit and I put mine in the freezer and eat it over a few days lol. Casey thinks I am crazy, but it just not my thing. In this instance I would have preferred some good old cheetos!
I am already planning my next get-away, I am thinking Tahoe. I am in the mood for some snow! But SoCal again soon for sure!

Look of the Day: Catch Up

No not my beloved Ketchup, although I did get a Ketchup Cookbook for Christmas. But today I am playing catch up with my blog posts. This is actually yesterday's look of the day. Pretty much we spent the day on relax mode after the Holiday. We watched Good Fellows, and then hung out with some of Casey's (and now my) best friends. We spent the evening watching Tosh.O, mastering Jedi Mind Training, testing our Jedi Knowledge and practicing magic tricks. Don't we sound like a bunch of geeks. We aren't I swear, we just like Star Wars lol.

The Ketchup Cook book.
Some of the pictures in it are really cool.
This is pretty much true and reminds me of Pretty Women when Vivian pulls the ketchup packet out of her purse at the nice fancy restaurant.

How do you eat them, with your hands?

I love ketchup! When I was little I thought I was going to market and sell bottles of "Mutchup" (I guess I wasn't the only one with that idea, Kramer has the same idea as well). Sometimes I use food solely as tool to eat more ketchup. Take french fries for example, I could eat a whole plate of them, but mainly because I want the ketchup served with them. Recently a blogger (I can't seem to remember who) blogged about butternut squash french fries. Being a fan of sweet potato fries and butternut squash , I decided to give them a try. They were amazing, so much better then sweet potato fries. Here is how I made mine:

Yup, I eat my fries with a fork, just like George eats his snickers with a fork.
"What do you eat the with, your hands?"
Clearly I like spicy things, these could also be made without the spicy aspect. And If you notice my ketchup is in a glass container. I try to avoid plastic as much as possible and disposable items as well. So I buy huge cans of ketchup from Costco and then put it in refillable containers. It is "greener" then buying plastic bottles every time we run out plus I think it looks charming.

And a picture of me many years ago when I ate an marshmallow dipped in ketchup, after Casey's brother dared me. I don't remember it being that bad lol!
