How I Shop: Shopbop Wish List

I love making Wish lists of pieces that I would like to add to my closet. By saving items I can watch them as sales start or find similar pieces that catch my eye. Creating wish lists also keeps me from impulsive purchases.

This Shopbop wish list was inspired by the $100 Shopbop Giveaway I am hosting. If I had a $100 to Shopbop here are some pieces I might spend it on.

Look of the Day: Pretty In Pink

My is weekend was full of a little football and a lot of baseball {Go GIANTS}. But before all the baseball madness began I wore a pink flowy dress. I'm glad I wore it when I did because on Sunday it finally felt that fall arrived here in the Bay Area.

It may finally be time to upack my fall and winter clothes and boots. I am excited to wear cozy sweaters, leather jackets and boots! Until then I relished in bare legs and dresses.

You know I love dresses with pockets.

Look of the Day: Well Hello...Kitty

After four days of wearing pajamas and watching old movies, what's girl to do? Get dressed up of course! I took a cue from the old Hollywood Glamor movies I have been watching and tried out the old but new trend of kitten heels.

Now I know most people ahem Miss JennaB scoff at the idea of kitten heels but after all the classic movies I watched, they started to seem charming to me. So I decided to give them a go around. I upped the sex kitten aspect of lone inch heels by wearing a short hemline and a leopard print top. Rrwar!

Despite the absence of three or four (or more) inches that I usually look for in heels, the kitten heels still surprisingly elongated my legs in a way that flats cannot (I despise flats).

So ladies if you find 4 inch heels played out or painful I urge to give the little kitties a try, but remember you must still elongate your legs when wearing them. You can achieve this by pairing them with something high waisted or a short hemline.

Oh darlings, Bette, Marilyn and Audrey would all be so proud.

Of course Miss Pennie lane came out to play!

Ohh little skittish kitten!

Gotta love Animal prints this season as well.

Will you be giving kitten heels a try?

Things I love: Tricky Treats

I had Doctor's orders to stay home and rest yesterday, but he told me to make sure to mix in a little activity. So clearly I interpreted that into watching old movies, reading blogs and decorating my house for Halloween.
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays to decorate for and this is just the beginning of my decorating. I have my big Pumpkin party coming up in a few weeks so, I plan go crazy with my Halloween decor.
My glitter skulls are one of my favorite decorations.
I made them a few years ago and have displayed them in my cake stand every year since stealing the idea from Martha.
IMG_6900
My Mom brought over a bunch of squashes that were picked from her friends garden.
These will be scattered around my house.
IMG_6928
I busted out my old Autumn Pennant, purchased last year on Etsy from Funkyshique.
Framed by two Glitter pumpkins a'la Martha.
IMG_6919
Just walking by my skull cake-stand makes me happy.
IMG_6911
I can't wait to bust out more of my goodies!

Hopefully I will be back later with a Look of the Day!

Things I love: Share and Share Alike

Eating good food with good friends it one of things that brings joy to my life. While I have been sick these past couple days I have been looking over recent pictures of fun times that I had taken but never made it to the blog.

This particular evening was one spent with Jen and Vanessa at our favorite tapas plate restaurant. It's on the pricey side but their selection of local, organic and unique ingredients never ceases to amaze us. And as produce goes in and out of season the menu changes frequently, so it is always fun to go in because there are new surprises on the menu.

One of the things I love about tapas is that we all share the plates, so we ohh and ahh over the same flavors in unison -- or we find how our palettes differ. I find it to be such a engaging dining experience.

On this particular evening we ohhed and ahhed heirloom radishes with hummus.
We all picked a radish we liked best and none of us picked the same one.
{I liked the pink ones best}

As well as an accoutrement of cheeses.
Vanessa made sure we all tasted the cheeses in the same order.

And Heirloom tomato gazpacho shooters.

A fabulous night full of good food and friends! I can't wait until I feel up for that again soon!
And thanks you for all the $100 to shopbop Entries!
