Look of the Day: This Looks Like a Job For Me

Guess who's back? Back again?
Amber's 'fit's, tell a friend.
Guess who's back, guess who's back, guess who's back....
I've created a monster, cuz nobody want's to see boring posts.
They want outfit posts. Yeah, food posts, they're chopped liver.
Well if you want Amber,
this is what I'm about to give ya, a little bit of sequins mixed with some hard leopard.
With some wedges that'll jump-start your heart quicker, then when I get shocked by my closet that's not co-operating.
You waited this long, now stop debating 'cuz I'm back
on the blog, not procrastinating.
So the M-A-C wouldn't let me be, so let me see.
They tried to shut me down on A-N-B, but it feels so empty without me.
So come on and dip,
put you hand on your hip and just rock that 'fit.
But get ready, cuz this mix is about to get heavy. I just settled on my outfit, so rock it betty!

Look of the Day: Captian Jack Sparrow

I've been slowly transitioning my wardrobe to fall. Although the temperature is still warm, the leaves are slowly starting to turn, and pumpkins and squashes are in season, so to me that means fall!

This sparrow print H&M dress is the perfect transitional piece. I can't wait to wear this later in the season with tights and a sweater--although a sweater would cover up the cute shoulder detail. Transitional pieces are necessary for the California seasons. And fall clothes don't just have to be sweaters and boots, although I can't wait for boots!

Annie pointed out that I have thing for bird prints. I think like polka dots and stripes, bird prints are just something that make me happy. Expect to see this dress often this fall, I heart it!

Look of the Day: Three Piece Suit

I have been seeing versions of this outfit everywhere recently and I love it. It's easy to wear and it can rotated in regulary but changing up the blouse. I wore similar versions last fall and I'm glad to have options like this back in the rotation. It's so simple throw on and always looks put together. Just a blouse, belted jeans, and a hat. I threw in some bangles for fun, my arms feel bare without them.

Look of the Day: Sugar and Spice, And all That's Nice

This Millou top from LF Stores had me feeling extra girly yesterday. Between the ruffles, tulle and floral print it almost put it over the top. But dark jeans and wedges toughened it up enough for nightime dinner drinks. I was a in rush yesterday when I was getting ready but I can't wait to wear this top again and really style it. Luckily for me the top made such a statement that my lack of styling it didn't matter all that much for it's debut appearance.

Isn't she cute?

Look of the Day: It's A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

I learned a lot of things from Mr. Rodgers, like that I should like myself for just being just the way I am. And how crayons were made. But I think the thing that stuck with me most was his cardigan and sneakers routine when he walked in the door. Even though my cardigans aren't hand-knit by my Mom like his were, I still can't help but feel a little Mr. Rodgers when I rock a cardigan. And this mustard colored one makes me feel especially neighborly.

Now if only I could figure out how to rig a miniature Charlie trolley to drive past me...

Totally Copy Cat Style.Thank you Mr. Rogers for all the lessons you taught me!

Look of the Day: Rings on Her Fingers, Bells on Her Toes

A week after I left the hospital my Gma is back in the same hospital I was at for a knee replacement surgery. It's actually pretty good timing because I had to be at the hospital today and tomorrow for follow up appointments. So my Mom and I were able to stop into today and will see her again tomorrow. My poor Mom has spent about 3 weeks in that hospital taking care of me and now my Grandma. Here's to hoping I get good news at my appointment tomorrow AND hopefully my Gma will be able to go home as well. My mom deserves a break!
Speaking of my Gma, I have mentioned before that she is one of my style icons and has taught me a whole lot about style. She always wears fun and funky outfit even at 81, and after this knee surgery she will be back to rocking outfits soon enough. I think she is just as miserable as I was rocking those horrible hospital gowns. Today I wore a few rings that remind me of the ones my Gma always wears. And the necklace I wore was one of the presents my Gma gave me for my birthday. They were the perfect things to wear when visiting her today!
My Gma inspired ring and things.
World Market Ring, World Market bracelet, Forever 21 ring, and H&M necklace.
My head scarf was necessary to hide my greasy hair, sad to say that showers aren't daily with the catheter in my arm. It's such a pain to take them!
Smiling at my Pennie Lane, who was out of shot but was being a silly kitty.
Really exited not to have hospital bracelets as accessories anymore!Splendid top, J Brand Jeggings, Free People Cardigan, Cynthia Vincent for target sandals.
Yay for my Gma recovering quickly, funky rings and my awesome Mom!

Look of Day: Relapse

"Let’s be honest, that last Relapse CD was ehhhh”
I am a recovery addict, and it was hard habit to break. I spent all my money on it. I couldn't get enough. I went back weekly for more. And then when I graduated college I had to quit, cold turkey. Abercrombie, you had me hooked. I couldn't have the sweater, without the cami, without the jean skirt, without the matching flip flops (Kara I know you are right here with me on this). I had to end my incessant need for all things Abercrombie. After my complete obsession I have avoided the place, but this past weekend I relapsed. And now I am kind of happy I did, because I picked up a couple button ups and a really cute bandau/corset bra on clearance. old habit die hard I suppose.

Hi, my name is Amber, and I'm a recovering Abercrombie-holic.
Abercombie Classic Top, Abercrombie Morgan bra/top, J Brand jeggings, Postcards+Love Oh Deer Necklace and Cynthia Vincent for target Wedges.
Yay for oldies but goodies, moose and deer.

Look of the Day: The Usual Charaters

Wine tasting is always a good time but there are always the usual characters out there. The wine connoisseurs, the lets get drunk parties buses(birthdays, bachlorettes, want not) and the out of towners. We could have been mistaken for a party bus crowd by the end of the day and were sometimes mistaken for out of towners, but we are just really some (almost) locals enjoying the amazing ambiance of Napa. We packed picnic along, as to not to deal with the lunch crowds at Dean and Deluca and V. Sattui and had an amazing day soaking in the gorgeous surroundings and tantalizing our taste buds with nice wine.
When wine tasting I usually opt for comfort, since you never know where the wind may blow you, and a bit windy on Saturday, it was. So I rocked my J brand jeggings, Cynthia Vincent for Target wedges and a Forever 21 dolman throw over sweater. The sweater was perfect cover at the windy wineries and the sunny ones. And the wedges and jeggings were just right for comfort all day long.

Yay for Mom's, Mumm's and Mondays!

Look of the Day: French Fried

So my plan of catching up on blog reading and blog updating didn't exactly go as planned. A friend needed to talk which ended up taking up a good amount of time. In any case this Joie French Postcard dress is definitely going to be one of my favorites for the summer. I always know a item of clothing is a hit when I have girls coming up to me asking where I got it, which is exactly what happened when we strolled through a local Art festival Saturday. I see this Joie piece as a versatile top/dress that I plan on wearing many ways and the print on it is just too cute!

I didn't sleep too well last night, not a great way to start the week off. I'm hoping I can pull it together and catch up on sleep and blog stuff today.
Oh and one last time don't forget to check out my current giveaway, it ends tonight!

Look of the Day: If You Steal My Sunshine

(Amber + Sunshine) x The Weekend=Little to No Internet Time. Looks like I will be spending my Sunday night catching up on blog reading, commenting and writing. As for my weekend lets' start from the very beginning, a very good place to start. Friday night we went out with some friends for dinner and then watched the baseball game together. I rocked my new JBrand Jeggings, Splendid top and Cynthia Vincent for Target wedges. One of my favorite outfits to wear is a loose tee, skinny jeans and wedges. It's nothing special but for some reason I always love the look of it and this outfit was no exception.

I had a hard time taking a good picture of the top so this will have to do. It looked much better when I was standing normal.
Oh and did you join twitter then enter my giveaway with the WhitdressShop yet?? Well what are you waiting for? There's a Rachel Pally skirt on the line here =) Alright I am off to upload more pictures and catch up on blog reading! I'll be back.

Things I Love: Cynthia Vincent Wedges

One of my favorite pairs of shoes is my Twelfth Street for Cynthia Vincent Luella Wedges, so naturally when Target snagged Cynthia Vincent as one of there featured designers, I freaked. I crossed my fingers that I would be able to snag a pair of the shoes. I ended up with the cognac wedges and the yellow flat sandals. Both of which you will see often in future Look of the Day Posts.
I took a few pictures to just show how good the Target wedges look compared to the $400 Cynthia Vincent Wedges. The Target ones clearly don't feel as nice and I can't see them lasting nearly as long (especially if I wear them as much as my Luella's) but I love the look of them for the price.
I loved the cute Yellow Boxes!
The Yellow sandals are still available here.
Similar side view, the Luella's are solid wood.
Even the tags look similar.
Both are very comfortable.
The Luella's higher strap is a little more flattering.
Keep your eyes peeled and keep checking online, I have heard about people spotting the shoes popping back up. Good luck ladies! And as great as the Target ones are, I still also HIGHLY recommend the Twelfth Street Cynthia Vincent Luella's I have had them for a year now and they are going to be in good shape for years, I cannot say the same for the target ones.
