Look of the Day: Rue Turns One

Blogging is something that I love & adore. I love documenting things, sharing my life and thoughts with people, but most of all I love how blogging has lead me to meet so many amazing people on and off line.
I have been blown away with the community of San Francisco bloggers, their generosity, their openness and just their plain radicalness. Oh and hey Diane Steele, THEY ARE FASHIONABLE. I am beyond blessed to be welcomed into such an awesome community of people.

Let's just say when Anne Sage of Rue Magazine invited me out (just to PLAY) on Saturday night I just about died. How could I be so fortunate to call someone like Anne a friend? I mean just this week the she and her pal Crystal celebrated their one year anniversary of Rue magazine (CONGRATS LADIES!!) and they are the current tastemakers for Gilt City SF (check it out, those girls have STYLE & TASTE). I am one lucky girl, counting my stars (and wising on them...).
I love you all so much and I don't know what I would do without you all.

My shoes are also oldies but goodies 12th Street Cynthia Vincents but this pair also by her is just as badass and is on sale!

This Year/Last Year: Rodarte for Target Lace Dress

If you are a long time reader you might remember that last year I went a BIT crazy over the Rodarte for Target line and purchased many of the pieces. So when I put this outfit together I couldn't quite remember how I wore it last year so I went back to look.

The look from last year was more slimming look, naturally, since I belted the dress. But in both instances added layers over the dress and I paired the lace print dress with chunkier shoes. I seem to always need a touch of roughness when I go girly with my outfits.

This Year: Rodarte for Target Lace Dress, V Neck Sweater, and Deena and Ozzy tread boots.
Last Year: Rodarte for Target Lace Dress, Lace Vest, Urban Outfitter ruffle belt, Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent wedges.

I 'made' this vest by using the belt to secure a scarf in a vest like fashion.

Look of the Day: Game On

Yesterday was Game One of the Post Season, so you know I rocked Giants gear. Warning: I will not be wearing normal clothes until the playoffs are over. Literally today I am wearing a tutu and a Giants Tee. So if you follow me on Facebook or Twitter you can see what I am wearing {or wore}.

But before the playoff's started this is what I wore. A perfect Fall/Summer hybrid outfit, and the mark of the first appearance of leggings this season.

One of the things on my Fall wardrobe to-do list is to organize my legging drawer -- yes I wear them that often. Here I paired them with a Joie tunic, Forever 21 slouchy sweater and my Cynthia Vincent Wedges.

Look of the Day: The Little Black (and WHITE) dress

There is something to be said for things you can always count on. A go-to recipe, a fabluous hair dresser or the prefect closet staple. My weekend has been nonstop so l when I was getting ready for the Charity Fashion Show Saturday Night, I knew I needed an easy outfit to put together. There is something to be said for closet staples during times like that. The little black dress being one example of a piece that you can grab, throw on with some accessories, and wear over and over again. And that is exactly how I feel about this black and white Parker dress, it's like an old reliable friend that I know will always be there for me. So last night when I attended the Charity Fashion Show, this Parker dress was the perfect dress to grab and throw on and my old reliable friend friend Mandy was the perfect date for such an event! Our night was little strange but The Charity Fashion Show itself was very a fun event. Even Mandy, who is not into fashion, enjoyed herself at the show. We had a fun time watching the lines, checking out the clothes (and models) and enjoying the show.

It was fun having our name on seats, I only hope I can attend more fashion shows in the future!

Things I Love: Cynthia Vincent Wedges

One of my favorite pairs of shoes is my Twelfth Street for Cynthia Vincent Luella Wedges, so naturally when Target snagged Cynthia Vincent as one of there featured designers, I freaked. I crossed my fingers that I would be able to snag a pair of the shoes. I ended up with the cognac wedges and the yellow flat sandals. Both of which you will see often in future Look of the Day Posts.
I took a few pictures to just show how good the Target wedges look compared to the $400 Cynthia Vincent Wedges. The Target ones clearly don't feel as nice and I can't see them lasting nearly as long (especially if I wear them as much as my Luella's) but I love the look of them for the price.

Keep your eyes peeled and keep checking online, I have heard about people spotting the shoes popping back up. Good luck ladies! And as great as the Target ones are, I still also HIGHLY recommend the Twelfth Street Cynthia Vincent Luella's I have had them for a year now and they are going to be in good shape for years, I cannot say the same for the target ones.

Look of The Day: You Can Call me Flower if You Want To

When I first started blogging about my outfits I was a little worried it would make me feel like I would need to shop more, so I wasn't always posting the same clothes. It turns out that the opposite is happening, instead of shopping more I am thoroughly examining what I have in closet and getting deep into clothes that have received little attention from me before.
I had a bridal shower to go to this weekend, and my first thought was that it was the perfect excuse to buy a new a dress. But when I thought about it more I knew I had some dresses in my closet that still have tags on them, like this Elizabeth and James dress that I got on clearance a few years back from ShopBop. It has been sitting in my closet just waiting to be worn, and yesterday I finally busted it out.
I can't believe I never wore this before, I loved it and Casey said I looked like a flower in it.
Our nice weather has gone away.
The bits of red in the dress inspired me to paint my nails red, something I never do, and I loved it!
