Amber's {Weekend} Notebook: Golden Moment

Last week was my spring break. While I planned on wearing cute outfits, crafting and blogging the heck of out my week; instead I spent my week practicing yoga, hiking and working on my garden, and I hardly made it out of my of my gym clothes. However, I did have a very special birthday to celebrate so I also spent the the week making someone's favorite meals (like his Mom's enchiladas) and I made time to bake an age appropriate Dinosaur cake (which I inadvertently doubled the recipe resulting in a dinosaur-sized cake).
We also celebrated Casey's 30th Birthday by spending Friday wine tasting and then on his actual birthday (Saturday) we attended the game and World Series ring ceremony. It was so cool to see the players receive their rings and wear their gold jersey's for the night. During the months of April through September our nights and weekend revolve around baseball games - good thing I have a husband who loves baseball as much as I do!
The weather was perfect for a drive and sampling some wines on Friday.

And Saturday while super chilly and windy was a great game.
And seeing the Giants players receive their world series rings brought tears to my eyes.

I hope you had a fabulous weekend as well!
Time for me to catch up on my blog reading!

Things I Love: Spring Cleaning

I've admitted it before, but I am kinda of messy. I'm also a borderline hoarder.
IMG_5441
Well things started to get out of control in my girly room.
iPads had no homes, USB cords were lost in the sea of madness and books and magazines and things of sort became piled, upon piles.
IMG_5445
Finally my super tidy husband decided to step in a help me.
IMG_5454
He spent the weekend building me cabinets and shelves. My pile of shoes finally have a home! I feel so Mariah Carey!!!

I'm still organizing and purging everything but I hope to share the 'after' pictures later this week! I couldn't be more excited!!

Logical Playlist of the Moment: What Part Of Party Don't You Understand?

A few Christmases ago Casey gave me a Logitech potable speaker sound system, it may be most used present he has ever given me (in a dead heat race with my camera). My mom had purchased me an iPod that same Christmas so he purchased it mostly to coordinate gifts and give me some iPod accessories. I'm not sure what he was thinking I would use my speakers for. Perhaps for morning dance sessions like the one I had this morning to Gwen Stefani songs, but I am certain he had no idea what a monster he was creating.
<span class=
My Logitech speakers, or as my friends and I refer to them as "Logi" it as is a mainstay at my parties. When I am invited out to girls nights Logi is always my plus one. There has even been talk of creating a Facebook Fan page for Logi -- Logi is THAT big of a deal. When Logi comes out the party is kicked up more then a notch.
<span class=
And since music makes me so happy, I figured the logical thing to do is to share my top songs that are on Logi's rotation.

So here it goes.
These are the top five tracks that I have been bumping on Logi this week:
1. Raise Your Glass-Pink
2.What's My Name- Rihanna & Drake
3.Last Friday Night Night- Katy Perry
4.Rebellion(Lies)- Arcade lies
5.So Bad-Eminem
A clear sign that Logi is in the house? The shoes that have been kicked off.
And usually some is dancing on a chair or coffee table!

Things I love: The Panda Army

Well I'm still collecting myself after a very busy weekend including a baby shower, a 50th birthday celebration and an epic Giants game. Casey was so sweet to surprise me with tickets to the game on Sunday. He had a softball tournament on Sunday and felt bad I couldn't watch Saturday's game. I am still shocked he bought me tickets!!!

It was the perfect game with an ending I had been dreaming about. We were right in the mix high fiving the players after the cliched the National League West.
How Casey surprised me with the tickets.
Thank you! I love you!!

Things I Love: Anniversaries

Thank you for all the anniversary wishes! I had a great night celebrating! It was our first anniversary not out of town, but after all the time off for my hospital stays and our trip to Europe a mellow week at home was necessary!
Casey still spoiled me and brought me roses home. He also took me too my favorite restaurant for small plates full of local fare and a few sips of wine.
My mom futher spoiled us by trying to sneak over a wedding cake reproduction and a bottle of Prosecco to celebrate. I caught her, but it was amazing nonetheless! I teased her on Facebook asking if she purchased us Lady Gaga tickets...a girl can wish!
Cheers!!
My Mutchup (Ketchup + Mustard) bouquet!
Wine Flights.
Mine was excellent. Casey was not a fan of his and left most untouched.
Stuffed guavas.
Unique, almost desert like!
Humus, pita chips and heirloom cucumbers.
LOVE!
Spicy shrimp salad with watermelon and cilantro.
So refreshing and I loved the spice!
A steak dish Casey got.
I enjoyed the salsa and black beans.
Prosecco and cake from our wedding cake bakery.
Thanks Mom!
I definitely need this once a year...but who doesn't love to be spoiled?
YAY for local food, celebrations and four freaking years!!!

Four Years Ago, To the Hour.

That's one nervous, excited and hot August bride right there.
It seems so long ago and yet it all went so fast.
I love you Casey. Thank you for everything you have done and still do for me. These have been the best four years of my life. I can't wait for many more adventures.

Look of the Day: Quasi-Mode-Oh

I just read through all my hospital/pneumonia posts starting on May 27th when I was first admitted to the ER (I actually started complaining about being sick in this post on May 24th) and I'm so glad I wrote as much as I did down, but still left so much out (like when I had the tube in my lung I couldn't make it to the bathroom and had to pee bedside lol). It's still feels like all of that didn't really happen to me because it was all such a blur. I had never spent any time in hospital before and honestly hospitals scared me but since it all happened and progressed so quickly I never had a chance to get scared about everything I was going through. Ten days in the hospital? No big deal. Having blood drawn 3 times a day? I have the track marks to prove it. A CT scan? Sure why not. Poking a hole in your back to insert a tube into your lung to drain liquid? Go ahead. Inserting a catheter line through my arm into my main artery? Insert away! It was like facing a fear without knowing I was about to face it, but I suppose that is how people with way worse health issues get through them, no matter scary things may be.
Now that I am home, I am back to my quasi-outfit/feels like pajama gig. When you sleep half the day away you have to be prepared to wear outfits that you can easily crawl up in a ball and take a nap in. I am feeling so much better but I am quickly reminded how hard my body is working to fight this infection when I: Wake up 9:30, only because the phone rang. Watch Regis and Kelly (wow did anyone else see how horrible Christina Aguilera looked? I mean a Tiara on a 29 year old women? Come on! Have Jen over for some coffee and help her put together some favors for her sister's bridal shower. Eat lunch that my sister made me at 12:00 and then pass out on the couch until 4:30 because that's all I had energy for. The days really aren't long enough for me. When I did wake up Casey administrated my catheter medicine and then my Mom and Sister took me on a walk around the neighborhood to exercise my lungs. We then all went out for a couple shrimp tacos a local Mexican restaurant, and even that was a struggle for me to get through.
Head bands, Leggings and Slouchy Tees and Tunics are my friends these days.
Above me is some of the decor Jen and I made for her sister's shower.
Rocking a Rachel Pally tee and H&M Headband, and assorted hospital accessories.
Yay for coffee with friends, craft time and having my sister in town for the weekend!

Look of the Day: Return to Sender, Address Unknown.

No such person, no such zone.
Ever had a week that just flew by and you didn't get anything done? That is how I feel this week. It's Thursday, May 20th, and it feels like anything but Thursday, and this week has felt like anything but May. I just took my first look of the day picture of the week, and it's too bad because I had some cute outfits that probably won't (well I hope) get worn again, because I hope this weather doesn't stay around. The weather man actually just said it is the first time NorCal has not hit a 90' temperature in May since 1971, really weird weather! Now, as for not getting anything done this week. Casey comes home before me, so he gets the mail and sorts it,and leaves my pile on the table and check it when I get home. When I am busy and it starts to pile up he moves it to my desk, and he knows I will check it then, because that is where I take my Look of the Day pictures. Well let's just say, I am just now sorting through my stuff.
Trying to make some room for myself...
Sorting through stuff.
Overwhelmed, and right before it all fell on the floor.
I am wearing my J Brand Doll jeans. and an Anthorpologie top (obviously I have no idea of the name, but I love the beading detail).
Yay for Thursday, Time for Look of the Day posts, and a husband that takes care of me when I need it the most.

Look of the Day: 'Cause I've got one Hand in My Pocket

I haven't been very good about Look of the Day posts since my tripod broke, because my outside pictures take a little longer. I think My husband might have noticed, because I came home to a brand new tripod today. My outfit wasn't anything exciting but today I had time to take pictures and I was in the mood to take pictures. With my neew tripod in tow, my desk pictures will resume soon.Although I was informed via twitter though that the mirror pictures were a favorite, so I may mix it up with the desk pictures, outside pictures and the mirror pictures. Any opinions? If so let me know.

The sequel to this will be:
"She's got both hands in her pocket".
Today I rocked a favorite Urban top of mine, a Nordstrom cardigan, COH jeans and Kenneth Cole wedges.
And my sweet surprise!Yay for unexpected small surprises, Fridays, and Alanis Morissette!

Things I Love: Take Me Out To The Ball Game

Yesterday was the perfect weather for a day at the Ball park and the game was really good as well! It lasted 13 innings before the Giants won, WOooHooo! We had blast eating ball park fare and hooting and hollering it up for our team. Here are some of pictures from the day.
