4leafBoutique

I just added a link on my blog to my friend's Erynn and Michelle's new Etsy store! 4leafboutique. They have SUCH cute handmade items and personalized cards. They are making me personalized Christmas cards that I know will be fabulous. The cards will a feature a very special trip I took this year. These girls have an eye for style. Make sure to check out their store!

Look of the Day: Where's your ruffle?

When one of my friend’s was growing up, her mom would ask her where her ruffle was. Meaning where was the one stand out point of her outfit. I also adhere to this fashion philosophy of having a standout piece which transforms clothes into an outfit. Putting to together an outfit is always my goal. Even if I’m wearing jeans and a T-shirt, I am most likely also wearing funky earring, quite a few bracelets or a scarf to add some style to my outfit. Today my outfit was rather boring, until I was about to head out the door and threw on my Pencey Studded Moto jacket. It’s all about the detail on this jacket that help make it my “ruffle” for the day. Where's your ruffle?

I'm not a

a post stealer?? My SIL Rebecca just posted about this towel that I think is just too funny! I had to post it as well. It would go perfect with my beloved Anya Hindmarch I'm Not a Plastic Bag bag. If only more people had the mindset of using items that can be reused...

And I am also stealing a post from my friend Gaelyn over at The Corner View who posted about the blog
Daily Drop Cap by Jessica Hische. Jessica designs adorable letters that you can copy and add to your blog! According to Jessica's Blog "The Daily Drop Cap is an ongoing project by typographer and illustrator Jessica Hische. Each day (or at least each WORK day), a new hand-crafted decorative initial cap will be posted for your enjoyment and for the beautification of blog posts everywhere. To use a Daily Drop Cap on your site or blog, follow the instructions in each post and read about the usage limitations. Enjoy! " Go check out her blog, her letters are just darling! Such a cute way to start a blog post.

Look of the Day: Vested Interest

Lately I have been obsessed with the Rachel Zoe project on Bravo. If you love fashion like me, then I'm sure it is an obsession of yours as well. Rachel has taught me that a girl can never have enough sequins and vest are Amazing! I have been on the search for a faux fur vest to rock a'la Rachel Zoe. But had yet to find the perfect one. I ordered a Joie vest that I saw on Rachel's show, but let's be honest, it made me look like the abominable snowman. It is going to get sent back. Today my friend J (the genius behind The Look for Less blog) pointed me in the direction of THIS sweet faux fur vest from American Eagle. I swiftly ordered myself one. I hope this vest works!

American Eagle vest.

H&M vest that reminded me of a sequin vest Rachel wore on her show.

The Joie vest that is going back. It looked cute on this model.. on me not so much.
Rocking a sweater vest today. How Mr. Rodgers of me.

In with the new

I finally got around to making a blog header and adding all my best blogging friends to my list. I hope I didn't forget anyone. If I forgot you, I didn't mean too and let me know so I can add you =) And if you would like to be removed let me know as well.

Oh and in case you aren't the crafty type I came across these already glittered Martha Stewart Halloween pieces. She even has the green skulls that I posted about earlier this week. I kinda of want the creepy crawlies! I may have to glitter up some of those!

Hope you are having a Wonderful Wednesday!

Boots Bonanza

I LOVE fall fashion. Wearing boots makes it FEEL like fall for me. Because of this, boots have become one of my favorite shoe options. Here are the first few boots I have purchased this season. The Joie Twiggy OTK (Over the Knee), Ash Olivia fold over and the Frye studded Deborah's. Loving all these boots and am excited for the outfits I will rock them with.
These made my legs look like they went for days.
Love the detail on these!
The fold over aspect is SO cool and evens out my thighs! LOVE!

Full outfit shot of the Ash Olivia's.
And this Shoulder tee was pretty well received today so I took a pic of it as well =)

Pumpkin to the Third Power

Another thing I love about Autumn is warm harvest soups. Recently during a Costco trip I came across this Kabocha soup that I knew I had to try. Not only did it sound delicious I really liked the goal and mindset of the company that produced it. Besides I love Mason jars, they are so versatile, so the whole package sold me. This soup is fabulous, I swear it tastes like fall. I plan to pick up the ingredients (sans cream, chicken stock and rice starch) from my farmers market to concoct my own version of this fall harvest soup.

Autumn is such a fun season to decorate for. This past weekend I broke out my Martha Stewart sparkly decorations. I had so much fun the year that Erynn, Jen and I (among others) went crazy for the Martha Stewart glitter kits from Micheal's. Who doesn't love glitter and sparkles? My skulls look perfectly spooky and sparkly displayed in my cake stand given to me from my SIL Rebecca. Loving this time of year!

Faded Plains

After seeing the Faded Plains on The Lettered Cottage I knew I had to order some of their items. I picked up this some starfish, a vintage enamel house number and a few gifts as well ;) My items came super fast and were packed in such darling ways, they even sent a thank you package with my order! Such great service. I wasn't quite sure where I would use the enamel numbers, I will probably move it around. But for now I added it to my lamp that was rather boring. Check out their blog and shop. Such cute items to add cute and subtle details.

How I Shop: Studs and Ruffles

Today I had a 15 minute appointment to review my grades, units and finalized my graduation!! While I was rather relieved I was all set to graduate, the 15 minutes spent at my school still didn't seem to equate to the 40 minute drive out to my school. So of course I used the excuse to SHOP. Although the mall by my school turned out not to be the greatest, I did have some fun at Forever 21 buying some ruffly and totally girly items. Yes the black tutu skirt is totally not practical, but something came over me and I had to have it. Can't wait to mix in these girly pieces into my Fall Wardrobe.
