Style Icon: Blades of Glory

I am back from LA!!! I am beat and will update, download pictures and recap tomorrow. Anyways the Oympics are just around the corner and I couldn't be more excited. I am a HUGE fan of the Olympics. I can remember in 1984 when I was a mere 2 years old, watching Mary Lou Retton win the the gold medal. My Dad built me a balance beam after that and I clearly remember the Wheaties box with her on it. I have watched every Olympics since then. The 2008 Beijing Olympics practically had me a walking Zombie as I stayed up all hours of the night watching Micheal Phelps, Dana Torres and Shawn Johnson wow the nation. Even though I was a summer too late visiting the Birds Nest and the Water Cube it still was such a thrill for me to see them in person.
One of these days I need to make it to the Olympics and see the action in real life. But until then I will be glued to my television screen watching the Shaun White rock it out on snowboard, Lindsey Vonn rip up the slopes and being awe struck by the sparkly twirling ice princesses. Brings back memories of my sister and I roller skating in sparkly outfits in our garage to the Footloose sound track pretending we were Olympic ice skaters. Let's hear it for the Boy!
Some of my favorite Ice Skater Moments in the past.
Kristie is as good as gold.

Even rocking Vera Wang couldn't help Nancey win the gold, but she did shine still.

Oksana's eclectic and bird like style set her apart from the crowd.Image from goldmedalimpressions.com

Her delicate dance like style and brave moves landed her the gold.

  3. LOVE the Olympics! We actually lived in LA for the '84 Olympics (I don't think you were born then, haha. I'm old) and that's when I fell in love. I used to be a sprinter and was obsessed with Flo-Jo!! :)
